To our RTR community:
With the world currently moving a mile a minute, we feel the need to take a step back and hit the pause button.
For us, this moment of reflection amidst all the present uncertainty fills us with gratitude for our community. It’s been our mission from day one to help empower women to be the best versions of themselves every day. For more than 10 years, we’ve been showing up so they can show up—for important meetings (online or IRL), big birthdays, or just to hang out with their loved ones.
Needless to say, it’s tough for us when we can’t show up. But during these unprecedented times, and as we work to prioritize the health and safety of our members, our employees and the general public, we’ve made the decision to proactively close our retail stores in response to COVID-19 for the time being. We are doing so out of an abundance of caution and to help mitigate further spread of the virus.
We’re navigating this rapidly evolving situation both with—and on behalf of—our community. We are planning to be closed for one week and will be paying associates for their usual part- or full-time scheduled hours during this time. We’ll be monitoring the situation regularly, and will adjust our plans and timelines accordingly.
Our retail locations are special to us because they are a direct reflection of our community—and they’re so much more than just stores: members come in multiple times a week to swap, get dressed for the day and gather for special events. We love being there for and with them along the way.
We're so grateful to have such an engaged community, both offline and on. To our members who are accustomed to spending time with us in our stores each week, know that there is a place for you here and on our social channels. Please check back here on The Shift and across our @renttherunway social channels for updates, a feeling of connectivity and hopefully, some distraction during this strange time.
Finally, as many of us start spending more time at home, please take some time for yourself. It’s the little things that add up and keep you feeling good—from creating a routine, to eating a meal, to simply getting dressed in the morning. Thank you for being part of our RTR community—please stay safe and take care of each other.

Why are RTR retail stores closed?
The COVID-19 situation is rapidly evolving. In an effort to prioritize the health and safety of our members, our employees and the general public, we’ve made the decision to temporarily close our retail stores. We are doing so in an abundance of caution and to help prevent additional spread of the virus.
How do I return RTR items that I intended to return at the store?
Please use the prepaid shipping label included with your RTR order and your reusable RTR garment bag to return your rentals via mail. Your garment bags can be dropped off at your nearest UPS location or at open RTR Drop-off Box locations. Please see the list of our available drop off locations here.
When will the store re-open?
RTR is navigating this rapidly evolving situation both with—and on behalf of—our community and will continue to reassess regularly. We are taking it week by week.
