Watch any red carpeted event and you’ll likely see half a dozen women styled by Los Angeles-based stylist, Jamie Mizrahi. Her varied list of clients includes the likes of Katy Perry, Nicole Richie, and Jessica Alba (to name a few) and now she’s bringing her fashion expertise to the Unlimited Closet.

Introducing: The Sweet Baby Jamie collection, a first-of-its-kind collaboration available exclusively on Rent the Runway. Featuring everything from day-to-night dresses to wear-with-anything coats, this versatile collection is fit for all manner of occasions.

We sat down with Mizrahi to learn more about the design process and to get a sneak peek at the styles launching on November 15.

To start, let’s talk about the collection. Why are you so excited to be collaborating with Rent the Runway?

I love to have fun with style, and there is no better way to experiment with fashion than by renting!

Describe the Sweet Baby Jamie collection in 5 words or less:

Classic, comfortable, and versatile.

What was the inspiration behind it?

The inspiration behind the collection was my everyday dressing, things in my closet that I find that I mix and rotate on a daily basis. It’s about quality not quantity for me. For instance, I have a slip skirt in my wardrobe that I can wear so many different ways–with a sweater, bodysuits, a blazer, to work with flats or heels out at night–it’s all about being able to take staple pieces in my wardrobe and get many different “wears” out of them.

We know you love them all, but which style would you say is most rent-worthy?

The brown faux fur coat or the black turtleneck sweater because they’re both styles you can wear so many different ways: with jeans, over a dress, with a skirt, dressed down or dressed up!

Describe the design process. What went into creating your collection from start to finish?

I looked at my day-to-day wardrobe and what I know my clients feel comfortable wearing regularly. Things that aren’t so hard to “style” or and can easily transition from day to night. I also wanted to make sure that all of the colors and prints felt timeless–things that you would go back to next winter and be excited to wear again!

Now, let’s get personal. Give us your bio in one sentence:

I’m a mom, wife, stylist, co-founder of The KiT, and designer/creative director.

How would you describe your own personal style?

Comfortable and classic.

As a stylist, you’re always on the hunt for the best pieces for your celebrity clientele. Did your styling background inform how you designed this collection?

Yes, of course! I took into consideration not only my clients but my friends and what I see they gravitate towards wearing – colors, prints, styles etc.
