Celebrity stylist Jamie Mizrahi is back again with an all-new Sweet Baby Jamie capsule collection–just in time for spring. Expect everything from throw-on-and-go dresses and crisp separates, to chic pant suits and boho skirts. Similar to her fall collection, Mizrahi chose timeless colors, prints and silhouettes that are easy to wear and pair with pieces you already have in your wardrobe.

We sat down with Mizrahi in sunny Los Angeles to learn more about her design process and to get a behind-the-scenes look at the collection–exclusively available on Rent the Runway on March 17th.

To start, let’s talk about the collection. Why are you so excited to be collaborating with Rent the Runway again for spring?

I love to have fun with style, and there is no better way to experiment with fashion than by renting! Plus, spring is such a fun season to get dressed for, so I’m very excited to see how people will style this collection.

Describe your new spring collection in one sentence.

A breath of fresh air!

What was the inspiration behind it?

I was honestly inspired by the season. The styles are light, colorful, floral, and effortless. I wanted the spring collection to feel like my fall collection in that everything is easy to mix and match with pieces you already have in your closet.

Do you have a must-rent piece from the collection?

If I had to choose, it’d be the black and white skirt and top set. You can wear both pieces separately and they’d go with so many things, and if you wear both together it’s an instant outfit.

Describe your design process. What went into creating your collection from start to finish?

I looked at my everyday wardrobe and what I know my clients feel comfortable wearing regularly. Things that aren’t so hard to “style” or can easily transition from day-to-night. I also wanted to make sure that all of the colors and prints felt timeless–things that you would go back to and be excited to wear again.

Now, let’s get personal. Give us your bio in one sentence:

I’m a mom, wife, stylist, co-founder of The KiT, and designer/creative director.

How would you describe your own personal style?

Comfortable and classic.

As a stylist, you’re always on the hunt for the best pieces for your celebrity clientele. Did your styling background inform how you designed this collection?

Yes, of course! I took into consideration not only my clients, but my friends and what I see them gravitate towards wearing – colors, prints, styles etc — as well.
